MESSAGE REGARDING INSTRUCTOR LED COURSES:
Homeland Security and Emergency Management continues to
monitor guidance from the State of MN Department of Health and Center for
Disease Control (CDC) as it relates to the COVID-19 pandemic. To prevent
the spread of COVID-19, the HSEM Training Staff is in the process of
redeveloping the instructor led courses to be given virtually. We will be
revising the current course content to fit the new format using Adobe
Connect. We thank you for your patience and understanding during this
process. Please continue to check the HSEM LMS for updates.

A brief summary is provided for each Learning Path. Choose the category to enroll in the Learning Path.

Open Enrollment Courses
The courses listed in the following categories are considered open enrollment courses. Any learner with an active LMS account can register for the courses listed here. Prerequisites will be noted if applicable.

Basic Emergency Management Certificate
This learning path provides a comprehensive training program balancing online and classroom course delivery. The certificate program is intended for those who are currently working in Emergency Management or have a role in emergency preparedness.
Enrollment approval in this program is determined based on an individual's role in Emergency Management.
Radiological Emergency Preparedness
The Radiological Emergency Preparedness (REP) section houses online training courses, videos and the REP Learning Path. These courses are useful to those who live within the 50-mile radius of the two Minnesota nuclear generating plants.
Director/Practitioner Qualification Program
This learning path is specifically designed to enhance emergency management skills for those who are currently working as Emergency Management Directors. Enrollment approval in this program is determined based on an individual's role in Emergency Management.
Critical Infrastructure Planner Program
This learning path is designed to introduce students to the current policies, plans, doctrine, and methods of protecting critical infrastructure. This training will provide guidance on vulnerability assessments, risk management techniques, security and resilience strategies, and threat and hazard identification.
HSEM Open Enrollment Courses
HSEM hosted courses that are open to all learners are listed here. It includes courses that are part of a learning path, but have open seats made available once priority learners have had the opportunity to fill the class.
Completed Emergency Management Certificates
Emergency Management personnel who have previously completed the Emergency Management or Directors Track certificates prior to the 2016 curriculum can add the certificate of completion here.
